DANGER DAME…is Dangerous!
I met her during my first-ever trip to SDCC (she was dressed in a female-styled Captain America outfit) and as soon as we talked…I knew I wanted to collaborate with her. It began with a simple idea. Create a costume and persona that would not only stand out in a crowd, but would be instantly recognizable. With legendary stuntman Evel Knievel as the original inspiration, I then took Steve Mcqueen’s LE MANS as the basis for her second outfit. A couple of doodles later this talented seamstress knocked out two costumes that brought Comic Con to a standstill.
Seriously… walking beside her was a nightmare. Every 12 yards she was stopped for a photograph!
But the cherry on the cake was our trip to Las Vegas. Originally planned as a promotion for my exhibition at SKYE ART GALLERY, photographer Chris Gomez took Stephanie and friends Rachel Barrick, Michele Conrad, and Naz Horner down to LAS VEGAS SPEEDWAY where amazingly they were let in for free and given some CARS TO SHOOT WITH! Also, shout out to Dave Fordham for helping out with that day.
Steph has since retired from the Pin Up game but below is a collection of shots, honouring her time as Danger Dame. Sometime soon I will post pictures from our other collaboration Captain Corsair.
(PS. RIP Rachel Barrick. You are greatly missed.)
