Let’s get something straight right out the gate. Barbara Gordon isn’t just a Batgirl. She’s the Batgirl. A cape-wearing, brainy, badass who proves you can fight crime with fists and facts, and later proved you didn’t even need to stand up to stand out. As Batgirl, she’s cracking cases as fast as she cracks skulls. When she became Oracle. That’s where Barbara Gordon became the digital backbone of the DC Universe. Heroes didn’t move without her say-so. She ran missions, saved lives, and proved that strength isn’t about muscles, it’s about will, intellect, and resilience.

And here’s how I picture her when the cape’s off.

Barbara Gordon is absolutely a Trekkie. Not casual one either. I figure she’s full on into original series debates; probably owns a battered copy of the Starfleet Technical Manual, and totally not feeling Starfleet Academy, or the current direction of Star Wars LOL!! She’s got opinions on the OG stuff and will defend them passionately.

She’s likely dipped her toe into anime and manga too.

Her vibe? Pure retro cool. Late ’70s, early ’80s energy. BMX and Chopper bikes, collects vinyl and she rocks a pair of Adidas Superstars with the stripes scuffed just right.Down time? She’s destroying an Xbox Controller playing multiplayer games, and is up till late beating some kid in Manchester on Street Fighter.

She’s the kind of girl who can quote lines from The Godfather, rewire a server, throw a punch, and still look cool doing it.
